Your adventure into the Sahara begins with a departure from your riad in Marrakech at 8:00 am. Your personal driver and guide will escort you through the stunning landscapes of the High Atlas Mountains, dotted with traditional Berber villages. En route, you'll visit the remarkable Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah, a UNESCO World Heritage site known for its exceptional southern Moroccan architecture. This ancient fortress, still home to five local families, once played a vital role in the trans-Saharan trade routes. Over the years, it has served as a captivating backdrop for famous productions like Game of Thrones, Lawrence of Arabia, and Gladiator. After a leisurely exploration of the kasbah, enjoy a traditional lunch at a local restaurant before heading towards Ouarzazate, often referred to as "the Hollywood of Africa." Here, you’ll have the option to visit the renowned Atlas Film Studios, set against the exotic desert landscape. Continuing through the scenic “Route of a Thousand Kasbahs,” you’ll pass Kalaat M'gouna, famous for its annual Rose Festival in May, where local artisans craft exquisite rose water, lotions, and perfumes. The day's journey concludes in the picturesque Dadés Valley, where you'll spend the night in a charming hotel with breathtaking valley views.
Today promises to be a highlight of your desert adventure. After a hearty breakfast at your hotel, we set off towards the awe-inspiring Erg Chebbi dunes in the Sahara Desert. Along the way, you’ll witness a dramatic shift in the landscape, with rocky desert terrain and quaint, centuries-old Berber villages offering countless photo opportunities. One of the day’s most memorable stops is the Todra Gorge, a towering canyon with walls over 300 meters high, known for its popularity among rock climbers. After a short hike through this natural wonder, you’ll enjoy lunch at a nearby restaurant. As we journey towards the desert, we’ll pass through Erfoud, a town famed for its rich fossil deposits. For those interested, there's an optional visit to a local fossil museum where you can learn about Morocco’s ancient geological history and see how these fossils are transformed into decorative items. By mid-afternoon, you’ll arrive in Merzouga, where your camel guide will be ready to lead you into the breathtaking Erg Chebbi dunes. As you ride across the golden sands, you’ll witness a stunning desert sunset before reaching your camp. Tonight, you’ll sleep under the starry Sahara sky after a delicious dinner.
Wake up to the tranquility of the Sahara at sunrise and enjoy breakfast at your camp. We’ll then start the return journey to Marrakech, traveling through the rocky desert of Alnif and the vast Draa Valley, home to Morocco’s largest palm grove. Lunch will be in the charming town of Agdz, followed by a scenic drive over the Ait Saouen and High Atlas Mountains. You’ll arrive back in Marrakech by the early evening, where your unforgettable Sahara adventure will conclude at your accommodation.

So, you’ll get to explore on your own, if you wish, and will always have your driver or expert guide with you whenever needed.
We work a little differently than most other operators in Morocco. After years in the field, we have found a balance between drivers and guides that we think works well. Essentially, your driver is more than a driver, he is your tour host and confidant. We consider our drivers to be some of the best in the entire country. Many of them have degrees in Spanish and will be with you to keep you safe on the roads, answer cultural questions you may have, and simply act as a key to the local culture and regions you will visit.
You can use credit and debit cards in tourist areas of Morocco. Visa and MasterCard are the most accepted. But it is suggested to withdraw some cash for daily purchases such as meals, drinks, and small souvenirs.
Well, it depends. Most foreign nationals entering Morocco do not need a visa. If you are an American, Canadian, Australian/New Zealand, or European passport holder, you will not need a visa. Malaysians, Singaporeans, and some passport holders from Hong Kong do not either. If you are from another country, you may very well need a visa.
